Six Pack Ab Exercises With Amazing Results

Most of us have been told that the only way to get a six pack is to religiously do crunches, right? WRONG! I am going to give you some great six pack ab exercises that really work.  These are unique exercises that don’t include your typical sit ups or leg lifts, but you will see fast results.

There are several of reasons that prevent the crunches and sit ups from melting belly fat.  The first problem is that they are tedious.  You will eventually lose the desire to do them due to frustration.  You could do hundreds every day, but you won’t see much in the way of results. Or if do have some success, you will plateau off quickly and not see continuous definition of your six pack.

The next problem with the traditional stomach workout is that it doesn’t really focus on your core like these six pack ab exercises will.  The best workout for your belly is one that actually conditions your whole torso.   If you can strengthen your core, which includes your stomach, back, and pelvis, you will receive the flat, sexy stomach you have always wanted.

There is also a matter of concern with possibly injuring your back by doing too many crunches. You are isolating your abs so much and by doing this, you are leaving your back vulnerable.  We have what’s called antagonistic muscles in our body—ex. biceps/tripceps, quadriceps/hamstrings, and abs/back.  If you only strengthen one and not the other, they are out of balance, which can cause injuries.  Also, the repetitive motion of spinal flexion can compress vertebral disks if you do too many over a long period of time.

The last big issue with your old routine is that it won’t burn the fat you are trying so hard to get rid of.  If you have belly fat, situps and crunches will help a little to strengthen the muscle underneath, but your abdominal muscles are still going to be covered up by the fat you carry in your midsection.

What you really need are metabolism-boosting high intensity exercises to build those rock hard abs and lose that tummy fat. You have to focus on the large muscles and the whole body, and if you do these six pack ab exercises right, you will also get a cardio workout at the same time.  So here we go with the 3 fat-burning ab workouts I told you I’d share with you.

The first of the six pack ab exercises that I’m going to share with you is Mountain Climbers.  You start in a pushup position and then shuffle your feet in and out so that your knees are moving in under your chest in opposition and then back to the starting position while keeping the core tight.  These can either be timed or you can do sets of them and take short 60 second breaks in between.

Another great whole body exercise is Renegade Dumbbell Rows.  Again, you start in a pushup position with each of your hands on a dumbbell.  You row 1 dumbbell up while stabilizing your body on the other dumbbell. Then bring that dumbbell back down to the floor and alternate to the other side while stabilizing your body over the opposite arm.  Again, keep your core firm and straight to work your abs. You can do 3-4 sets of 8 on each arm with a short break in between.

The last six pack ab exercise I’m giving you the front squat.  It is done similar to a back squat except you hold the bar in front of your shoulders instead of resting it on the back of your shoulders.  You have to stabilize the bar by crossing your arms over it and pushing your fists into the opposite shoulders.  This one takes some practice, though, so go light at first with a spotter.  Front squats require extreme stabilization strength from the abs because the weight is in front, so get ready for the burn in your legs and stomach.
